In fall 2013, Emerson College joined the 11th cohort of the American Council on Education (ACE) Internationalization Laboratory, charged with creating a more globally engaged curricula, opportunities and campuses for their students.? The following are the institutional members of ACE’s 11th cohort (2013-2014):

- Emerson College (MA)
- Leeward, Windward and Hawaii Community Colleges (HI)
- Lewis University (IL)
- Orange Coast College (CA)
- Sacred Heart University (CT)
- The State University of New York-Geneseo
- University of Alabama-Birmingham
- University of Massachusetts-Amherst
- Western Washington University
Under the auspices of this ACE initiative, institutional members in each cohort work to increase global engagement on campus by forming leadership teams to work on strategic planning and student outcomes, attending community meetings in Washington (DC), and participating in ACE site visits and peer reviews, among other activities.
Emerson is committed to working with ACE and the other institutional members of the 11th cohort to broaden and deepen its internationalization goals.? As Emerson continues to realize its vision of becoming the world’s hub for arts and communication in the world, our association with the ACE Internationalization Laboratory will have a significant impact on our ability to develop a proven record of successful internationalization programming.? Emerson is committed to implementing innovative ways to internationalize its teaching, learning, research and service functions. Emerson will complete its participation in the ACE Internationalization Lab in October 2015.
ACE Internationalization Laboratory Steering Committee and Sub-Committees
The ACE Internationalization Laboratory Steering Committee and Sub-Committees were established in spring 2014 and charged by Emerson’s President and Chief Academic Officer (CAO) to develop the College’s strategic plan for internationalization.? The co-chairs of the ACE Steering Committee monitoring the multi-year work of the ten sub-committees are Drs. Maria Koundoura (Chair & Associate Professor of Writing, Literature and Publishing), Anthony L. Pinder (Assistant Vice President of Internationalization & Global Engagement) and Tulasi Srinivas (Associate Professor of Communication Studies).???
In addition, nearly 60 faculty, staff and students from across disciplines and departments make up the membership of the ten sub-committees of Emerson’s ACE Internationalization Laboratory initiative.
